The immigration history in France, unlike other European countries, totals
one and a half century; but only from rather recent time it should deal with
a phenomenon of immigration "settled". It came earlier and left depending on
labour market fluctuations. Today unemployment is not reduced any more, but
here "visitors" any more visitors, and Frenchmen by the right of a birth.
Hands of "thirty nice years", the period of rough economic growth
(1945-1974), - hands of their parents. They have built today's France. In a
word, with them it is necessary to be considered. And France yet has not
groped a balance point between preservation of the image of the country of
hospitality and republican values which very much values, and a reflex of
tearing away which is caused by "strangers" against the social and economic
problems. Whether discussion about national originality will help with it?
